The Pendragon Adventure

The Pendragon Adventure

This is one of my favorite book series of all times.  It perfectly blends fantasy and reality.  Bobby Pendragon, a middle school student at Stony Brook Junior High, in Connecticut, i suddenly thrust into a grand adventure when his Uncle Press shows up at his done one day, before the county championship basketball game.  He tells Pendragon it is is urgent, and that they need to help some people out, so Pendragon reluctantly abandons his basketball team, and goes with Press to a subway station in New York.  From the subway station, they 'Flume' to other territories across Halla and battle the evil St. Dane.  In each territory, they seek to stop Saint Dane from making the 'Turning Point' go the wrong way, which would send the territory down a path of destruction.  From earth in the past, present, and future, to the water planet of Faar, to the urban jungle of Quillian, and back, Bobby Pendragon adventures to save Halla.  The book is presented in an interesting format, where Bobby's best friends, Mark Dimond and Courtney Chetwynde, receive journals from Bobby, telling of his travels throughout Halla.  It also follows Mark and Courtney's life, as they deal with problems on Second Earth (Earth as we call it), and occasionaly travel beyond it to the other territories.  It's a very good book series.  As I'm not a very good writer, I don't think this article has captured the greatness of it, but trust me, it will be a book you will get into and want to read.  It's one of the few books I hold on a Harry Potter-like pedestal.  There won't be a movie for it, because it's a fantasy, which could only be ruined by a movie.  READ IT, because that's they way it is meant to be.
